Twilight star Robert Pattinson can’t always play a vampire heartthrob.
In his next movie, Little Ashes, set in 1922 and described by Variety as an “arty Bohemian romp,” the London-born actor, 22, plays Spanish surrealist painter (1904-1989) Salvador Dalí as a young man – in love with the poet Federico GarcÍa Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.
The two meet at university, with Lorca attracted to what the movie’s production notes call Dalí’s “bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism.” Hey, beats a bite in the neck.
Little Ashes opens in late March.

That’s right. ANOTHER ONE! As if we haven’t broken enough records already, the soundtrack is close to shattering a new one! Paul Grein, Yahoo’s chart watcher, says that the Twilight Soundtrack is close breaking a record of longest run in the top 10 for a theatrical movie soundtrack!
5. Various Artists, Twilight soundtrack, 33,000. The former #1 album inches up from #6 to #5. This is the album’s 12th straight week in the top 10. That’s the longest run in the top 10 for a theatrical movie soundtrack since 8 Mile had 14 weeks in the top 10 in 2002. That monster hit included four tracks by Eminem, including the Oscar-winning “Lose Yourself.” Twilight beats two soundtracks that had 11 weeks in the winners’ circle, Chicago and Juno.

Along with the slues of videos of Kristen from Sundance we have already seen, MTV has up another one, accompanied by a great interview. As most of us know, Kristen will be portraying Joan Jett in the up-coming, The Runaways.
“I’m, like, vibrating,” grinned Stewart when we asked about “The Runaways,” a 1970’s-era flick about the influential all-girl rock band fronted by Jett and Lita Ford. “I’m just so excited about that movie.”
“I’m really, exceedingly, more excited than normal,” she laughed.
Directed by Floria Sigismondi, the flick will tell the story of the teenage band who were brought together and thrown into leather and lace, performing such sneer-filled songs as “Cherry Bomb.” Although they barely lasted four years and only put out a handful of albums, the band was able to overcome their sleazy “jailbait” gimmick to become an influential punk band that would eventually help birth such successors as The Breeders, L7 and The Donnas.

Gossip Teen recently interviewed Taylor Lautner and he talked about something that everyone has been wondering: DOES HE WANT A GIRLFRIEND?
Super cute and how Taylor Lautner, who has been way too busy working out to play the teenage werewolf in Twilight sequel, “New Moon”, confessed he is single and looking for the perfect girlfriend.
Taylor says: “I look for someone honest, loyal and someone who can be a dork. I don’t want anybody too uptight and trying to impress me. If they’re just a dork and really outgoing and fun, then that works for me.”

PopEater.com has up a great article about Peter Facinelli being Pro-Dakota. And can I just say that Peter is the most awesome guy in the world and I wish I was his kid?
“I always think of her as this 12-year-old girl, but she is older now. What is she like 16 now?” he joked.Fanning, who turns 15 in February, is in talks to play bloodsucker Jane opposite Robert Pattinson in ‘New Moon.’ The character of Jane is described in casting docs as a terrifying petite blond with a “Botticelli angel-like face… [and] crimson irises.”According to reports, there were no auditions and the part was just handed to Fanning. Facinelli believes she will make a great addition to the cast and bring something new to the movie.“I have been very fortunate to work with great people. The ['Twilight'] cast is really great. We are like a family,” Facinelli said. “[During filming] I took on the father figure role, and they were all my kids. I love all of them,” he added.

Just another quick book recommendation: The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester. It’s the oddest/sweetest mix of Little House on the Prairie and X-Men. I was smiling the whole time (except for the part where I cried). I gave it to my mom, and I’m reading it to my kids—it’s absolutely multi-generational. Prepare to have your heart warmed.

My Park Magazine has up an article where they talk to Kristen about New Moon. And, just like the rest of us, she’s pumped for the sequel.
Kristen Stewart is “really excited” about ‘New Moon’.
She told MTV: “It’s such a machine now. All of a sudden, this movie has become something bigger. With all the expectations – usually, you make a movie and think, ‘If it touches people, great; if it doesn’t, then you move on to the next one, and no one’s personally affected by it.’ But everyone’s really sensitive with any changes right now.”
The actress says she can’t wait to reprise her role as Bella Swan in the sequel to hit vampire love story ‘Twilight’ but is stunned by how big the movie franchise has become.

According to the Daily Beast, Taylor Lautner and Cam Gigandet are the Breakout Stars of 2009! See? It’s not all about Rob and Kristen!
Taylor Lautner:
After originating the role of Jacob Black in the original crazy successful teen-vampires-stare-and-brood Twilight, there was talk Taylor Lautner wouldn’t be cast in the sequel. Fortunately, the director was convinced and Lautner is bulking up to play the older role in the follow-up New Moon, which will be rushed into theaters this November. Robert Pattinson, watch your back. Teen girls, get your screaming pipes ready.
Cam Gigadent:
Some teen-TV fans may remember Cam as the guest character on The O.C. responsible for killing off Mischa Barton, but he’s going to be known for much more than Marissa-cide after this year. Cam has a whopping seven movies in production for 2009—and those are just the ones that have been officially announced. After his breakout role as a pale vampire in last fall’s Twilight, Cam will appear in Pandorum (a thriller about a spaceship with Dennis Quaid), Five Star Day (a coming of age story with Jena Malone), and Kid Cannabis (the true story of a 19-year-old millionaire pot dealer), among others.

It’s now confirmed that Dakota Fanning IS, in fact, being considered by Summit and Chris Weitz for the role of Jane in New Moon. There are several articles about this confirmation in which Dakota talks about being in the negotiations about the role. SHE HAS NOT BEEN CAST YET! She is just being considered. During our exclusive interview I asked Dakota about the rumors that she would be playing the vampire Jane in the upcoming sequel to Twilight, New Moon. She confirmed that she is in talks for the role and then we should have an official announcement soon. She expressed her fandom for all things Twilight and that she would love to be in the film.
“I think it’s too soon to tell if I’ll for sure be doing it, but it’s so great,” she told Access Hollywood on Saturday at the junket for her latest film, “Push.” “I’m a really big fan of that series and the first film and all the actors in it, so it would be wonderful.”
E! Online’s Marc Malkin reported on Thursday that Dakota was currently negotiating for the role of Jane, a member of the deadly Volturi vampires from Italy, where much of “New Moon” takes place.
Following Malkin’s report, a rep for Summit Entertainment confirmed to Access there had been talks with the actress.
“We are considering all actors that have the unique requirements for the look of Jane — Dakota being one of them,” a rep for Summit told Access.
Asked by “The Insider” whether the rumors were true that she’d signed on for the ‘Twilight’ sequel ‘New Moon,’ Dakota tells us: “I really hope that works out. It would be interesting, really fun to be a part of. I’m a huge fan of all those actors. So, it’s too soon to tell right now, but I really hope that it does happen.”
Dakota, 14, tells us that although contracts haven’t been signed yet, she does hope to join the cast of ‘New Moon,’ possibly as the sadistic bloodsucker Jane.
“It would be so cool to play a vampire,” she gushes.

Summit Entertainment has to be blazing full speed ahead to get New Moonout by the end of the year, as is their current goal. To that end, we’ve now heard from E! Online that 14-year old Dakota Fanning has been offered the role of Jane in the Twilight sequel. According to a source familiar with the situation, “There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”
