Jack’s Mannequin Rocks Stephenie Meyer’s World

Teen Vogue has up an article about Stephenie’s Jack’s Manequin video shoot. They have a short interview with Andrew (from Jack’s Mannequin) about the video concept and a little bit about the shoot. It looks like this was before the final product was released, but it’s still pretty good. To read it, CLICK HERE!

Happy 19th Birthday Bella!

 happy 19th birthday bells!!

Happy birthday to our favorite clumsy lamb! You may not be quite so frail and human anymore, but you are still the envy of every girl out there!!! I wonder if vampire birthday parties are bigger than human ones? I’m sure it is… Especially since it is your first birthday as a vampire! WISH I COULD COME! I’m sure it will rock!!!

Top 10 Reasons Bella Rocks:
1. She makes clumsiness endearing.
2. Pale is now considered desirable!
3. She has an awesome car. (All three of them she owned)
4. Edward Cullen hid in her closet. GAH!
5. She has her own space heater.
6. She has her own ice pack.
7.  She smells good!! [Which, at times, could be a bad thing. But it did attract a Vampire!]
8. She has an awesome pixie sized vampire who can see the future as a best friend
9. She is married to Edward freaking Cullen (Nuff Said)
10. SHE IS NOW A CULLEN VAMPIRE!!!

So, again, happy 19th Birthday Bella! I’m sure it will go better than your 18th birthday! Good luck at Alice’s awesome party – Alice will be Alice, after all! (FYI, she was born September 13, 1989)

If you want to give Bella (along with all of Forks – yes, the REAL Forks)an awesome birthday present, make a donation to help save Forks High School. According to the Lex, Forks High School is condemned and is in danger of being knocked down. We can’t let a memorable Twilight landmark (and an important landmark at that) be destroyed. Any amount of money you are able to donate would be extremely appreciated. Thanks to the Twilight Lexicon for this awesome project idea! CLICK HERE to help out!!!!!

Top 10 Twilight Series Moments

Blast Magazine counts down the top 10 Twilight series moments. Now, be warned, SPOILERS lurk on this page (from Breaking Dawn, of course), so read with caution! Or, actually, don’t read at all if you don’t want to be spoiled! I read all ten of these and found myself reflecting: “Aw, I remember that scene. AHH I LOVE THAT PART!!!!!” Haha. It’s really good and definatly top ten. But, I do think that there should be two additions.

1. Edward proposes (in Eclipse)
2. Bella tries to seduce Edward (also in Eclipse)

Those should be up there. But I defiantly agree with the other 10! To read it, CLICK HERE!

Breaking Dawn Canadian Book Review

A Canadian review of Breaking Dawn by GlobeAndMail.com has been posted entitled, “Pardon me, but your fangs are in my book.” Beware, though, this review contains SPOILERS. You’ve been warned. :]

It’s Bella herself who sums up this book, and the reason why so many readers will love it and so many others will grind their (blunt, human) teeth over it: “Edward had always thought that he belonged to the world of horror stories. Of course, I’d known he was dead wrong. It was obvious that he belonged here. In a fairy tale.”

Pretty good review, I think! To check it out, CLICK HERE!

Australian Breaking Dawn Mixed Review

The Sydney Australia based Sunday Morning Herald has written a review of Breaking Dawn with mixed emotions. The article also gives us a different cover shot of the book – possibly the Australian cover of Breaking Dawn? Anyone know if this is the Aussie cover? Well, it’s pretty cool. And we all know what scene it’s from! Warning: Slight SPOILERS!

Breaking Dawn meets its prequel’s promise of marriage and there’s an idyllic honeymoon with bruising and torn pillows to excite our imaginations. Fans will have to fill in the blanks. Bella gets her wish, too, both disturbing and exhilarating as her heart stutters, thuds quietly, then stops. The novel’s highlights include Bella’s first-hand description of vampire sensations as she explores newborn abilities and the shift in power between her and Edward.

Twilight Tuesday: Breaking Dawn Movie?

Already? Twilight hasn’t even come out yet! Well, not exactly a concrete script, but Stephenie Meyer talks to MTV about the possibility of the Breaking Dawn movie. Spoiler Warning!

Stephenie got back to us on that one, with a not-so-controversial answer: “The book is actually broken up into book one, book two and book three, and the end of book two is kind of the exact middle of the story,” Meyer said, referring to the conclusion of the section Jacob narrates, when Renesmee is born and Bella becomes a vampire.

Stephenie Meyer talked about splitting the movie into two parts because it would be too long for one movie. How much would that suck? What a HORRIBLE cliff hanger! AH, that would be really frustrating. Haha, oh well. To read more, CLICK HERE!

Rolling Stone Magazine: Twilight Articles

My favorite magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine, has up some awesome Twilight articles! They talk about Stephenie Meyer’s fandom and the Breaking Dawn Craze.

Meyer’s ascent to literary stardom began just over five years ago, on June 2nd, 2003. That was the morning Meyer — who dabbled in painting, majored in English at Brigham Young University and considered becoming a lawyer — woke up from a vivid dream about a male vampire and a female human in a meadow, talking about how they were falling in love even though the vampire thirsted for the human’s blood.

Twilight Tuesday: Breaking Dawn Aftermath

After the all the excitement and chaos from Breaking Dawn, MTV’s Twilight Tuesday for today ( August 5, 2008 ) centers around all the madness. The MTV Blog has up some videos of all the crazy Twilighters anxiously awaiting the release of the fourth and final book! They also have up and awesome interview with Stephenie Meyer. (May contain MILD spoilers, just to warn you guys!)

MTV: When you first conceived the “Twilight” series, did you have the entire thing in your head? Or has the audience response helped change it over the years?
Meyer: I have not been influenced by the audience at all, because I wrote almost everything before “Twilight” came out. So there was no audience. “Breaking Dawn,” I did know. The first sequel thing I wrote was this “Forever Dawn” thing that will never get out, because it’s horrid. [She laughs.

I’m Baaaack! (& FINISHED BREAKING DAWN!)

I’m back, guys! And guess what? FINISHED BREAKING DAWN! Ok, so I do want to remind everyone that the site will still remain spoiler free. Just vague comments about how you liked/disliked certain parts, but no details. Personally, I’m happy with the way Breaking Dawn ended, although it did leave some questions unanswered. There were a few parts in the book that annoyed me (for ex: ‘Book 2’) but eventually I realized that her choices were kind of necessary. I was also not extremely happy with the main thing that hindered Bella – email me if you don’t understand what I mean. But, I really think that in the end, it all was for the best. I’m happy with Edward, Bella, and Jacob’s ending: they were all ones I was happy with. You guys are lucky you weren’t around me when I was reading. I was laughing my butt off and also kept squealing and gasping. When I got angry at a part, I slammed down the book and pouted, then picked it up and apologized. Once I kept reading I understood why certain things happened, so I was ok. I also kept jumping up when something BIG happened and I gasped so quickly that I started choking when I found out what happened to Jacob at the end of Book 2!! AHHHH!!!! Well, all in all, I think I like Breaking Dawn. There were a few options that Stephenie Meyer made that I was not extremely enthusiastic about, but once she made the triggering idea, all the things that followed I loved. (She could have gone the other way in the beginning with Bella, but when she chose what would happen, the stuff that followed worked really well.) If you didn’t like Breaking Dawn, sorry. I liked it! You just need to get over the trigger. Come to terms with it! It worked out for the best! And once you come to terms with it like I did, you will realize that it was actually a pretty amazing book! Full of surprises and intense situations that were realllllllyyyy cool! Well, that’s all I gotta say about it! I hoped you guys liked it! Leave your comments on how you liked it, but NO FLAMES and NO SPOILERS or they will be immediately deleted. THANKS!

Breaking Dawn: Do Not Disturb

Just a little note: the Spidurmunkey website will not be udating until early Monday morning or late Sunday night. (I need to finish reading it. Actually, start – I can’t start reading until tomorrow morning.) Hope everyone likes the book and had a great time at the BD Release Party!

*EDIT*
Even after I read Breaking Dawn, I will continue to keep this a spoil free site. If you want to comment about the book, the comments must be vague and illusive. EX: “OME! What an ammmmmmmaaaaaahhhhzing book! Stephenie Meyer ended it sooo great! YAY!” Got it? We still don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t read it. We will give them a week. Next Friday, this site may contain spoilers. Just to warn you. So you better get reading! GO!!!! (I can’t wait to read it!!! It’s gonna be the best book yet, I know it!!)

Breaking Dawn Quote of the Day #21

The new Breaking Dawn quote for today (August 1, 2008) is:

Bella: “Should I be afraid?”
Edward: “Terrified.”

AHHHH! Ok, so here is our LAST Breaking Dawn Quote of the Day before we get our hands on the book and finally figure out what these actually mean! TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! Ok, sorry. Now on to the quote. Hmm. Should Bella be afraid? I guess so. If Edward says yes, then it must be true. Ok, so what could she be afraid of. I’ve narrowed it down to 4. The first: This is when he is biting Bella. She asks sarcastically if she should be afraid, and he is teasingly saying “Terrified.” EEK! Ahh, I don’t think anyone would be terrified if Edward was about to bite them. But hey, they could easily be teasing each other. And then, of course, right after Edward says that, she blushes and her pulse speeds up to a point that makes her dizzy. Hm. Very plausible. The second: something serious about the war. She over hears them talking and asks whats up and whether or not she should be afraid, kinda joking. But he turns around all serious and says “Terrified” which is followed, still, by Bella’s pulse speeding up and feeling extremely frightened. And the third (my favorite): Emmett. When she was changed into a vamp, we all know she will have the strength of a new born. So, of course, loving her new found power, she challenges Emmett to an arm wrestling competition. He accepts and is all cocky thinking he can take her down cuz she’s still Bella. But guess what… he fails. Bella wins. And he gets all upset and keeps rechallenging her but she keeps winning. Eventually, he gets fed up and storms away mumbling something about a rematch. Bella looks over at Edward and asks if she should be afraid. Edward hears Emmett’s thoughts and, obviously, sarcastically responds “Terrified.” The fourth, and final, theory is a simple one. Three words: Wedding by Alice. Hahaha.

*EXTRA NOTE*

Christian Serratos Interview on MTV Blog

The MTV Movie Team has posted a new blog featuring an AWESOME interview with Christian Serratos, our Angela. I would post the video here, but lately, most of the YouTube videos have spoilers spliced throughout the actual footage. Sorry the spoilers ruined it. :[  Oh well, you can still go see it at MTV Movie Blog. It’s really good. She talks about her role as Angela and also how excited she is about Breaking Dawn. (Apparently, she’s team Edward, too!)

“My favorite parts? In ‘Twilight’ it was the meadow scene,” she remembered of the special moments Meyer has already given fans thus far. “In ‘New Moon,’ I’m really looking forward to seeing the cliff dive. I’m really anxious to see how they do that [in the movie version].”

MTV’s Kim Stolz Interviews Stephenie Meyer Before She Moderates Tomorrow’s ‘Twilight’ Event

Kim Stolz, formal America’s Next Top Model contestant, has interviewed Stephenie Meyer. Herself being an obsessed Twilighter, she got a great interview with the creator herself. Talking about Breaking Dawn, her influences, and (obviously) the development of Bella and Edward.

Vampires are not “evil” in Meyer’s world. In fact, Stephenie explains that she believes that very few people in the world at large are in fact “evil.” Take Victoria, for example. After reading “Eclipse,” it is hard — nearly impossible — to see her as “evil,” because Stephenie brings her emotions to life in such a way that readers can’t help but sympathize and understand her desire for revenge — her plight is inspired by love, and the yearning for love lost. In fact, this motivation harkens similarities to Bella, Edward, Jacob, and virtually every character in the series, even Charlie.
